Stay Safe

Measures you can take to stay safe when leaving any campus library or building at night:

  • Travel in a group.
  • Walk the 'Cat's Path' through campus.
  • Use SAFECATS (Security Assistance for Escorting Campus Area Travelers) to escort you to your car or to your destination on campus.
  • Request an escort by calling SAFECATS at 257-SAFE (7233) or UK Police at 257-UKPD (8573).
  • Have #UKPD ready to dial on your cell phone.
  • Install LifeSafe App to your phone
  • Sign up for UKAlert - UK students, faculty & staff sign through myUK.   Visitors, parents, etc. sign up here
  • Dial 221-RIDE to have a bus pick you up and drop you at any place on campus.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
